About Oksana Zvyagelskiy

Oksana Zvyagelskiy has been an artist for as long as she can remember, but it wasn't until 2023 that she decided to pursue art as a profession. Her journey began in 1993 when she was born in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and moved to the United States with her family at six months old for a better life. Growing up in Washington, Oksana lived a typical urban life until her family purchased ten acres of land when she was about 13, where they raised sheep and cattle. It was during this time, that Oksana developed a deep love for animals, especially horses, even though she did not have any of her own. She often took care of her neighbors' horses when they were away.

When Oksana was 21, she married her husband Miro and moved to Montana, where he completed his college education as a petroleum engineer. Living in Montana allowed Oksana to experience country living, surrounded by mountains, nature, and farms, which became a major source of inspiration for her. After her husband graduated, they moved to North Dakota, a landscape vastly different from Washington and Montana. Although it was initially challenging, Oksana found many things to love about North Dakota. It became her sanctuary, and she now aims to capture its beauty through her artwork.
